Free Hand vs Guided Implant Surgery: Advantages and Limitations of Both Techniques (302) – LV, NV
By the end of this course, participants will:
1. Understand the process of fabricating a surgical guide. The material options and records needed to provide to the manufacturer and the process of ensuring the guide is accurate in its support and implant position.
2. Differentiate between the different guided options regarding tooth borne, soft tissue borne, and bone borne stackable guides and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
3. Acquire hands-on experience in the use of surgical guides with both traditional drills and the guided handle kit as well as test out the new DirectGuide surgical drills from Implant Direct.

This comprehensive two-day course explores two approaches to dental implant surgery: free-handed placement and guided implant surgery utilizing CBCT imaging and 3D printed surgical guides. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises/demos and clinical case studies, participants will gain a deep understanding of the advantages, limitations, and clinical applications of both techniques. At the completion of this program, clinicians will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions regarding which approach best suits the clinical scenario.
